Focusing on the Good with 5 Phenomenal Techniques

As you go through your day, are you focusing on the good?

Because as you probably know, what you focus on expands! It gets bigger.

For example, if you buy a new gray Honda Civic, you’ll notice more of them on the road. You’ll see them everywhere!

Yet, there aren’t more of them.

You’re just focused on them because you have one!

Focus on the good

As you go through your day, focus on what’s working, what you like, who you like, and what you’re good at. Focus on the positive things.

focusing on the good, positive things, focus on the good

To get through the day and shift your mood, focus on the good! Here are five ways you can do that.

1. Focus on the present moment

To focus on the good, be quiet for a moment and be with yourself.

Just be present with yourself. Don’t judge yourself. Don’t judge your thoughts, just be.

We hold space for others all the time… why not hold it for yourself.

As you do this, you’re living in the moment.

This practice alone helps you, over time, have more control over your mind. The monkey mind is quite annoying, so we need to practice bringing the mind back to the present moment, which is pristine.

2. Focus on good feelings

In your morning meditation, bring in love, happiness, and peace… all of the positive feelings.

While it’s important to be true to your uncomfortable feelings, it’s helpful to focus on positive emotions.

A meditation I do each day is:

I bless myself with pure love and light.

I bless myself with pure source energy.

Obviously, you can change the wording to fit your beliefs, but words are powerful.

And thoughts are powerful.

Intention is powerful.

Positive people understand the impact of focusing on what is good.

Positive self-talk is also key. What you say to yourself matters! If you’re critical of yourself, you’ll tend to be critical of others and your self-talk will be more negative. and

focusing on the good, good feelings, focus on the good,

3. Focus on self-love

Although this sounds cliche, it’s not.

Love is one of the highest vibration emotions that exist, so if you meditate on feeling love, really feeling it, now tell yourself that you deserve it, that’s awesome.

We’re all energy and energy travels fast.

As you raise your own vibration with self-love, you’ll see more of what’s good.

To help you, these self-love exercises will help you grow in self-love.

And positive self-talk is essential for growing self-love.

4. Focus on healing, positive energy

Healing, positive energy is calm, warm, hopeful optimistic and empowering.

By sending positive thoughts to those around you and to yourself, you’re creating good energy.

You’re focusing on what’s good.

I believe in the body’s ability to heal.

I am healing my life

The body is designed to heal.

I am breathing in healthy, happy energy and sending it to all of the cells of my body.

A big part of physical well being is having a positive mindset.

5. Focus on raising your energy

Since we’re energy, including our thoughts, use thoughts and places to raise your energy.

You can quickly raise your energy by thinking positively, choosing situations and places that are uplifting, and being around people who stay positive.

So, be responsible and bring positive energy by raising your energy first.

Once you’ve raised your energy, pay attention to what is good.

Look closer.

As you tune into what is good, you’ll see that things aren’t as bad as you believed.

Focus on the good, positive self talk, stay positive

One of the quickest, sure fire ways to raise your energy is to be grateful. When you practice gratitude, your fear-based energy shifts as fast as you can say: Thank you.

Bring in good energy with books and objects

There is energy in the form of books, old letters, or a happy picture.

Shoot, there’s great energy in healthy food, or nourishment of any kind.

Humans crave nourishment!

Read, look around at pretty things, spend time with objects you love, and recollect warm memories that remind you of the good in your life.

In the Power of Intention, Wayne Dyer says that all objects have an energy frequency, so create good energy that will continue to give a steady flow of good vibes to you.

Flowers, anything beautiful, pictures, high-vibration music, food, and books, are all examples of things that will raise your energy.

What to do when you feel like *$%*.

What do you do when you want to focus on the good, but you feel like crap?

This is a challenge!

Because when someone is fake or forcing positivity, it feels that way.

You feel fake as you’re doing it and anyone around you probably senses it on some level.

focusing on the good, focus on the good,

Faking positivity

This can get tricky. And here’s why…

Let’s say you’re in a bad mood. You’re upset, tired, or overwhelmed. And you hide it because you don’t want to be a downer.

So you fake your energy.

We’ve all faked being happy right?

The problem with this is that when we fake it, it’s a bummer. Plus, it goes against being soulful when we pretend to feel something we don’t.

Certainly, sometimes we fake it to make it in life to give ourselves the lift we need for a job interview, a presentation at work, or an important meeting.

Or, to spare someone’s feelings and protect them.

And changing your state, as Tony Robbins wisely suggests, is effective and boosts confidence, but there’s a difference between tools to give yourself a boost and faking who you are and how you feel as a general strategy in life!

So, what do you do when you want to be positive and supportive, but feel like crap?

Focus on self-love, self-care, and self-honesty.

Focus on self-love, self-care, and self-honesty.

Instead, focus on self-love, self-care, and self-honesty.

First, feel what is real for you as a general guideline.

Then, to shift your energy to be more positive, choose self-love, self-care, and self-honesty.

So feel what is honest and true. However, do not dive into the pool of low-vibe thinking.

There is nothing negative about feeling your emotions. Nothing.

However, negative thinking makes matters worse. For example…

This always happens to me.

I’ll never get over this.

I’m such a screw-up.

The people I want to love me don’t love me.

I don’t deserve love.

My life is going down the toilet.

These negative thoughts are examples of how your thinking can make negative energy much, much worse.

So, instead of faking positivity, feel your emotions fully and choose high-vibe thoughts that love and support you and others.

It feels connecting and wonderful when someone says: Ya know, I’m upset about such and such and I’m overwhelmed. I’m going to give myself time later today to rest and take care of myself.

That energy feels great right? This is modeling self-love, self-care, and self-honesty.

Positive thinking is good

Human beings are walking, talking balls of energy.

And thoughts are energy.

So, positive thinking, a positive outlook, or what I call high-vibe thinking™ (because it supports you emotionally) is helpful to seeing the good in life.

Einstein’s famous quote backs this up, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

Let’s say you’re having a bad day, and you wish you could muster a positive attitude. But, you just can’t.

But, unfortunately, you have to go to work… or show up for an obligation.

This is my personal nightmare.

What are you supposed to do? You don’t want to swallow your feelings because it’s giving you a stomach ache!

But, you know you have to put things in a positive light, so use the techniques above to help you!

Positive or negative energy

Negative energy is a drain… that’s a no-brainer.

So, to help others who are struggling focus on what is good, we need to leave any negative energy outside a room. To do this, be aware of the energy you bring into a room.

Because negative vibes are like pollution.

In my book The Thought Store, people in this futuristic town are dying from low-vibe thinking (thinking that is fear-based).

The idea was that the negative energy from negative thinking was so heavy that people solidified into statues!

Einstein would have gotten the idea…

Being around open, supportive people feels great.

Positive people are easier to be around… unless you hate that kind of thing:)

When you surround yourself with good people , do you feel uplifted with positive vibes, so it’s easier to focus on what’s good?

You probably do!

It’s why we go to motivational speakers or concerts or any kind of environment where people feel excited, energized, and happy.

Or dial that down to one on one with another person. Choose people whom, when you leave them you feel good.

Because while misery loves company, it’s not helpful to be stuck in the rut for too long.

Final thoughts

Focusing on the good helps you and the planet.

As long as we’re being true to ourselves as well.

Focus on what’s working, what’s happy, and what’s good in your life is a skill. You will become better at it as you practice focusing on the suggestions in this post.

Focus on the good!
