soulful dictionary, seed, spiritual meaning of trees,

How to connect with your soul means building a profound and loving relationship with the deeper part of you that’s always with you, rooting for you, has a loose plan, and is connected to the divine.

You connect with your soul by starting a simple conversation, creating a morning ritual where you get quiet and present, and practicing self-love so you feel closer to yourself. Meditation, journaling, and shifting negative thinking also help you turn down the mental noise and reconnect with your soul more consistently.

Deepening your connection with your soul

Do you have a deep desire to connect with your soul? I’m the same way.

Many of us know that we have this eternal and true aspect of ourselves, but we may not feel the connection.

As a soul coach and someone who’s been connecting with her soul for over 20 years, I have a lot of experience professionally and personally with the unique and beautiful soul.

You’re here because you’re ready to feel a closer relationship with your soul and expand your level of self-love?

The soul and self-love go hand in hand.

In this article, I’ll share practices for connecting with your soul… hopefully bringing more peace, clarity, and purpose into your everyday life.

How to connect with your soul

These practices will help you connect to your soul by turning down the mental noise and coming back to what’s true inside you.

1. Acknowledge your soul’s presence in your life

Your soul is right there… rooting for you 24/7.

Think of your soul as a cheerleader, wanting you to evolve. This is a soulful person’s perspective because you see that you and your soul are bound together. You’re in this life to learn lessons and grow.

This is a conversation with your soul. And, you’ll want to begin a conversation to the divine. The soul is directly connected to the divine and as we acknowledge our divine nature and spirit, our connection to the soul strengthens.

Here are prayers for spiritual growth to help with that conversation.

The practices below give you an opportunity to drop into this deeper aspect of you.

Your soul is with you 24/7.

Have a conversation with your soul

Maybe you’ve heard of the book, Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch. It’s a great book.

It’s about opening up the dialogue with something bigger than you. However that may look for you. This kind of dialogue can also happen with the soul.

I mean… It is YOUR soul!

Say to your soul… Tell me what you need. I am listening. Tell me which soulmates I will be working with.

Simply, have a conversation with the part of you that is eternal, connected to universal intelligence and here to learn and grow. Talk to your soul like you’re talking with your innermost, trusted, lovable self.

Your soul connects you to a much larger intelligent universe that has your highest good and greatest healing in mind.

Can you get more exciting and empowering than that? I don’t think so.

Create a morning ritual for this relationship

Create sacred space and moments for the ritual of connecting with your soul.

Each morning, as part of my spiritual practice, I set the intention to connect with my spirit guides.

Or, I connected with God/Source/Universe (however that looks for you) and my soul.

Here are questions you can ask your spirit guides.

I invite them all in and ask for clarity and guidance about whatever is going on in my life.

Then, I tune into my soul by simply turning off my mind and being present. When my mind is still and quiet, I can feel deep self-love and connection to the part of me that is eternal and true.

It’s a feeling.

It’s simple and personal.

Don’t expect bells to chime… it’s simply being present with the eternal part of you.

The power of intentional practice

Rituals and ceremonies have been used across cultures for hundreds of years to connect with the divine and explore the depths of the soul.

By creating sacred space and engaging in intentional practices, you can find your soul.

Create sacred time for being with your soul.

2. Love yourself

Many moons ago, I was drawn to the soul because I was searching for deeper self-love and self-acceptance. The soul became that path for me because the soul is massive enough to hold dark, light, good, bad, and ugly.

The soul stumbles and moves on. The entire appeal of the soul for me was: I’m flawed and want to go have pizza?

I loved The Sound of Music when Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer sang Something Good.

“Here you are standing there loving me…. whether or not you should. Somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good.”

Me and my soul were Julie Andrews and the guy she was singing to… You love me? I must have done something good.

This is ultimately what the Universe wants for us: to know that we are unconditionally loved at birth and nothing we’ve done, said, thought of… changes that.

TOOLS FOR YOU:

Self-love is an important part of spiritual growth.

3. Stop thinking your soul can’t

Believe it or not, this is a spiritual practice… because your thoughts can keep you from your soul’s full expression.

This is a lifelong process of stopping the negative thinking and overthinking.

There are great books to help you think positively.

As you make quality thinking a priority in your life, you will feel more naturally drawn to your spiritual nature.

4. Meditate in some form

Find time to quiet the mind each day… If the mind is going, going, going… we simply cannot go within.

Connecting with your soul includes the ability to turn off the brain chatter. Meditation takes some practice, but do what you can.

For me, sometimes I am able to quiet down for 2 minutes a couple times a day. Other times I can be quiet for all of 10 minutes! I’m not great at quieting my mind, but I do it! My mind feels more still than it has in the past and I’ll take it!

The power of stillness

By quieting the mind and turning inward, you create space for your soul to speak.

But, how exactly does meditation help you connect with your soul?

When you meditate regularly, you reduce mental chatter and distractions, you increase self-awareness, and you begin to experience yourself on a deeper, more comforting level.

5. Journal

I‘ve been journaling since I could write… and it’s a beautiful way to connect with your soul.

The written path to self-discovery

Journaling is a powerful tool for self-reflection and soul exploration.

By putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), you ploop your thoughts and emotions onto paper or screen… and it’s cathartic!

Think of journaling as a mind dump… not a beautifully articulated essay.

Effective journaling techniques

To make the most of your journaling practice, write without censorship or judgment. Explore your feelings, dreams, and fears.

Ask yourself probing questions and reflect on the answers. Review what you’ve written periodically to recall how you felt before.

We forget!

As you “write for the trash can” you help bypass your inner critic and access deeper levels of awareness.

6. Be in nature

Spirituality and nature go hand in hand. Explore your inner world by being out in nature.

Many of us feel closer to the divine in nature because of it’s simplicity, beauty, and quiet.

Except when loud people invade the space:(

The soul-nourishing power of nature

In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, we often forget our connection to nature.

Spending time in natural settings can profoundly impact your spiritual well-being and deepen your spiritual connection.

When you look at the miracle that is every plant and flower… it reminds you of the vastness of this universe.

Practices for connecting with nature

Try these simple yet effective practices to connect with your soul in nature.

Forest bathing involves immersing yourself in a natural setting, engaging all your senses.

As you engage with nature, pay attention to the subtle shifts in your energy and emotions. You may find yourself feeling more centered, peaceful, and connected to the deepest aspect of YOU!
