1. Acknowledge your soul’s presence in your life

Your soul is right there… rooting for you 24/7.

Think of your soul as a cheerleader, wanting you to succeed in life.

This is the soulful person’s perspective.

You will elevate the soul’s presence in your life by tuning into the soul.

The practices below give you an opportunity to drop into this deeper aspect of you.

You’ve heard of the book, Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch, one of my favorite books…

It’s about opening up the dialogue with something bigger than you.

However that may look for you.

This kind of dialogue can also happen with the soul.

I mean… It is YOUR soul!

It’s within you and connects you to a much larger intelligent universe.

Can you get more exciting and empowered than that?

I don’t think so!

So, no rules, no limits…

Simply, have a conversation with the part of you that is eternal, connected to universal intelligence and here to learn and grow.

Talk to your soul like you’re talking with your innermost, trusted, lovable self.

Say to your soul… Tell me what you need. I am listening. Tell me which soulmates I will be working with.

3. Create a morning ritual

Create sacred space and moments for the ritual of connecting to your soul.

Each morning, as part of my spiritual practice, I set the intention to connect with my spirit guides and soul.

Here are questions you can ask your spirit guides.

I invite my spirit guides in and ask them to give me clarity and guidance about whatever is going on in my life.

Then, I tune into my soul by simply turning off my mind and being present. When my mind is still and quiet, I can feel deep self-love and connection to the part of me that is eternal and true.

It’s a feeling.

It’s simple and personal.

Don’t expect bells to chime… it’s simply being present with the eternal part of you.

The power of intentional practice

Rituals and ceremonies have been used across cultures for millennia to connect with the divine and explore the depths of the soul.

4. Love yourself

Full disclosure, many moons ago, I was drawn to the soul because I was searching for greater self-love.

I figured, if my soul is connected to something good… so how bad can I be?

Back then I judged myself a lot. I was self-conscious.

I was at the beginning of my self-love journey.

As you love yourself, and if you have a desire to know your soul, you will feel more deeply connected to it.

It’s a natural evolution.

5. Stop negative thinking

Believe it or not, this is a spiritual practice… because your thoughts can keep you from your soul’s full expression.

This is a lifelong process of stopping the negative thinking and overthinking.

We all do it… but negative thinking is keeping you from your soul’s potential.

There are great books to help you think positively.

As you make this a priority in your life, the soul care will come more easily and your loving relationship with yourself will grow stronger.

4. Meditate in some form

Find time to quiet the mind each day…

If the mind is going, going, going… we simple cannot go within!

Connecting with your soul includes the ability to turn off the brain chatter.

Meditation takes some practice, but do what you can.

For me, sometimes I am able to quiet down for 2 minutes a couple times a day.

Other times I can be quiet for all of 10 minutes!

I’m not great at quieting my mind, but I do it!

And since I’m so aware of the quality of my thinking, it feels like my mind is quieter overall each year that passes.

My mind feels more still than it has in the past and I’ll take it!

I‘ve been journaling since I could write… and it’s a beautiful way to connect with your soul.

By putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), you ploop your thoughts and emotions onto paper or screen… and it’s cathartic!

Think of journaling as a mind dump… not a beautifully articulated essay.

Ask yourself probing questions and reflect on the answers. Review what you’ve written periodically to recall how you felt before.

Also use spiritual affirmations to help create calm energy.

Here are a few breathwork practices to try: Box breathing involves inhaling for 4 counts, holding for 4, exhaling for 4, holding for 4, and repeating.

Alternate nostril breathing helps balance your energy by alternating breath between nostrils. Deep belly breathing focuses on breathing deeply into your abdomen to activate relaxation.

Experiment with different techniques to find what resonates with you. Remember to start slowly and listen to your body’s signals.

As you engage in energy work, pay attention to sensations in your body and any shifts in your emotional or mental state.
