Find Yourself After a Loss of Love, Health, or Dreams

Award-winning author, Jeanne Nangle wrote The Butterfly Silhouette after her husband passed away. It is an inspiring, uplifting allegory about finding yourself, especially after experiencing a loss of love, health, or dreams.

The Butterfly Silhouette is a richly woven metaphor is about a wistful caterpillar who doesn’t believe that she can be a butterfly. Her journey toward transformation, told in a Dr. Seuss-type rhyme, takes the reader on the caterpillar’s quest through a strange and unpredictable garden with challenges every step of the way.

As the caterpillar continues deeper on her quest, she discovers the truth that lies within her, the soulful truth – a deeply planted truth that we all carry within ourselves.

Hi I’m Jeanne Nangle.

Years ago, after my husband passed away, I woke up in the middle of the night with a book in my head about a caterpillar who doesn’t believe she can be a butterfly.

I was lost and grieving and not thinking about writing a book. I was just trying to get through each day.

However, I believe that I was given this book to write… so two years later, I finally got it done.

It’s short, it’s all in Dr. Seuss rhyme, it’s childlike but for adults… and my hope for this book is that it will help you find yourself after any kind of loss, whether it be love, health, or dreams… so that you will be who you’re destined to be.

To your full expression, Jeanne

“My emotions took me on a roller coaster ride. I got goose bumps, cried, teared up, butterflies in my tummy and many other emotions I find hard to describe. A “parable in verse” is descriptive in a way that is so exquisitely written that all you want to do is soak up every word, every detail, every poetic verse and savor the moment of feeling whatever that may be for each individual reading The Butterfly Silhouette. When I met the author, in some magical way, she made me want to be a better, richer, fuller more robust human being. Some people refer to it as ethos, to me, she has an enormous gift.”

I’ve read it to my kids over and over.

“When I read the book the first time I felt such an intellectual understanding of change, loss, and grief. Then I read the book out loud and it was a profound visceral experience. She has a gift of putting words together in a unique and compelling way to describe life’s journey. Loved it and look forward to her next publication.”
